Hello everyone, welcome to the “Emmy Winning Blog.” The blog really didn’t win an Emmy. I just call it that.
Anyway, my name is Chris Parker and I am a freelance multi-media producer specializing in video, web layout and design. My career has been varied to say the least. Advertising, promotion, marketing, documentaries, news, magazine shows, infomercials, films, national talk shows, sports, corporate video and even a live telecast of a parade. I’ve done a little of everything and a lot of late nights.
And yes, as the name suggests I am an Emmy Award Winner who loves telling stories through the wonderful and ever-evolving world of multi-media.
Through the Emmy Winning Blog, I will be sharing my thoughts on the industry as a whole and more specifically I’ll be discussing various tips, tricks and tutorials on how to create everything from a website to feature film special effects.
For example, planning your video (every shot and every edit) ahead of time will actually save you more time than just grabbing the gear and heading on out to the shoot. I know this sounds like common sense, but in my industry there are way too many ‘hot shot’ producers and directors that forego the planning stage and more times than not end up with a post production quagmire.
Planning is critical and I will be discussing some really effective ways the production team and the clients (the guys with the checkbook) can work together to create a cost-effective and time-effective production.
Well, that’s it for now. The Emmy Winning Blog is officially underway. I’ll leave you with a video link to my latest independent film, “Samurai versus Lagomorph”.
